The world of Kuvari is populated by a number of sentient races, some humanoid, some not. Not all of the following will play a large role in the comic itself,
but information can be found here nonetheless.
The tainted races refers to races that have been exposed to the noxious gases of the Southern Swamps, called Kayris breath. When an individual of any of the
susceptible races is exposed to the gases, his or her form becomes twisted and appearance changes, but more importantly the mind is distorted. Those exposed to
Kayris Breath tend to lose their sense of self, forget their lives prior to exposure, and develop violent tendencies and a strong desire to bring pain and suffering.
Kayris Breath is also addictive, and the Tainted must return to the swamps periodically or suffer insanity.
